A paediatric pharmacist gives her opinion on sweet-like or chewable dosage forms for children and some of their inherent problems. She reminds us that most children of a certain age can learn to swallow small tablets which takes away the challenge to make the formulations palatable (and therefore reduces the risk of overdosing on medicines which taste like sweets).
