Important finding for future adenovirus vaccines
Scientists from Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia have reported that they have been able to isolate the cause of the rare adverse event known as VITT (vaccine-induced immune thrombocytopenia and thrombosis) that was associated with the adenovirus-based COVID vaccines. The immune system of a small number of people can confuse the adenovirus protein with a certain blood protein, triggering a clotting antibody. Modifying or removing the adenovirus protein should be able to remove this risk entirely.
