Ketamine clinics are proliferating in the United States, but there is growing concern that patients are often inadequately screened and not always receiving ongoing mental health care by their primary providers.

Concerned mental health practitioners are calling for best practice operating guidelines for these clinics and there are conflicting views over who should be providing this type of treatment (psychiatrists vs anaesthetists).
