A new review paper, by leading expert Professor Ruth Itzhaki, published in Frontiers in Ageing Neuroscience, presents her lifetime research on evidence that herpes simplex virus (HSV) may be responsible for Alzheimer’s.

As a result, the review shows the possibility of reducing the risk of senile dementia in patients with severe herpes infections using antivirals and raises the exciting possibility of a simple and cost-effective treatment for one of humanity’s more devastating diseases.
