In May 2020 various pharmaceutical companies released a medicines safety information letter about the use of ondansetron in pregnancy.

There is an increased risk of the development of cleft lip and/or palate and consequently the use of ondansetron is contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy for any indication. The full safety letter is available here.
