A global perspective of preventable harms related to medication

The WHO has published a systematic review and meta-analysis of approximately 100 studies investigating preventable medication-associated harms in both low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) as well as high income countries (HICs).

Although the prevalence of preventable and non-preventable harms was similar across all countries, the prevalence of preventable harms was almost twice as high in LMICs versus HICs.
