The WHO’s Strategic Advisory Group of experts on vaccines (SAGE) has revised its recommendations for COVID vaccines based on the fact that there is now population immunity at a high level as a result of both infections and immunization and taking into account risk of severe disease or death, vaccine efficacy, cost effectiveness and other factors.

For medium risk individuals (which includes healthy adults under 50-60 and children/adolescents with co-morbidities) a primary vaccine series plus one booster is now considered sufficient.
