Our newly updated PrEP info sheet and frequently asked questions is available on our website and via our SA HIV/TB Hotline app. This info sheet is based on the updated PrEP guidelines published by the NDoH in October 2021. Highlights include:

• eGFR monitoring only recommended in populations at risk (depending on age and co-morbidities)
• PrEP may be offered to pregnant women
• New data suggests PrEP is effective after 7 days for both men and women (previously it was thought that PrEP was only effective for vaginal exposure after 21 days)
• Guidance on switching from PEP to PrEP
