Micronutrient supplementation during pregnancy

Ellen Caniglia and colleagues published their observational cohort study recently in Lancet Global Health.

Their findings were that dual supplementation with iron and folate reduced risks of most adverse birth outcomes compared to administering either supplement on its own. In addition, women who received multiple micronutrient supplementation also had a lower risk of preterm birth and low birth weight babies compared to those who received only iron plus folate.
