Drug-drug interaction risk prediction

A retrospective longitudinal pharmacovigilance study highlights the importance of pharmaceutical supervision at admission. Routine data from eight German psychiatric hospitals were analysed and used to predict polypharmacy and drug-drug interactions and to evaluate prediction performance.
This study showed that polypharmacy and drug-drug interactions can be predicted from routine data at patient admission. This supports efficient management of benefits and risks of hospital prescriptions, early after admission for patients at risk, for instance by including pharmaceutical supervision.
